-13 degrees this morning, -45 with the wind chill, and she sat outside all night last night. No block warmer, no special bullshit in the gas tank. Non-name brand battery that came with the car.....

you are just bellow the point of needing a block heater,

at -13 most cars will start, they don't like it too much but should start. I plug my car when it's about -18, not that i really have to, but it's just way better for my car, since easier to start, and gets to running temp quicker.

don't know what year your camry is but most likely you have 5-20 oil in it, which is easier to start in the cold than 5-30 like in my suzuki

1998, so 5W30. Don't have a block heater, only ever had one in my P71 that came from a police department way up north.

-12 here in Chicago, my rotary started just fine this morning. One of the benefits of having a heated parking garage in your condo building.

My dad had an old Datsun that would start no matter the weather. The compression was so low it just cranked and cranked until finally one cylinder would fire. Then another. Then a third one. And finally it would run.

*1998 Camry's with 208k and a questionable past and very little maintenance

You are roughly at the same latitude as Hokkaido, which is actually quite fun to say.

My 2005 Passat TDI with straight #2 from the pump , a 2 year old battery, Rotella T6 5w40, started like a champ at -21F ambient.
